They're finally doing an official Batman and Doc Savage crossover, and Brian Azzarello is writing it? WHY?
Yes, Batman's Dripping Stalactite of Love. Literally. (And metaphorically. And so obviously literally metaphorically.... )
So, I've posted a lot of weird psycho-sexual batstuff in my time. (And, bless the Gothamites, there's a LOT left to post. )
But should you ever ask me, "Hey, zhinxy, what's the weirdest, creepiest quote unquote 'romantic" quote unquote "metaphorical" thing EVER in a Batcomic?" I'll say..
"Batman's Dripping Stalactite of Love. "
'Cause Freud saw this and he said...
" ...DUDE."
( Batman shows Catwoman his Dripping Stalactite of Love behind this cut )

I've never read it, I've never seen it in person, but I venture that this may very well be The Greatest Single Magazine Issue of All Time.
Dee Dee Sharp's Lover Boy.
I have officially stopped regular purchace of BOTH Batman and 'Tec for only about the fourth or fifth time since the 80's. Feels WEIRD when I do that. Srsly.
Safe enough for the bronze age comics code authority, safe enough for work.

Regardless, The Batman of Earth-Two would appreciate it if you stopped staring at his daughter's bush.

Yeah, it's like that.
My new bra says "Do not iron."

"On Monday May 18, 2009, we are asking anyone who identifies as a POC/non-white to post this banner, their speculative short stories, artwork, poetry or simply write a post on their favorite fandom on their blogs as an act of protest to show we will not be silent or invisible. The day of protest is entitled Fen Of Color United or more aptly, FOC_U.
White allies can also show solidarity for this event by posting this banner and expressing the need for diversity and speaking out against the bigotry in the genre, through posts and/or their creative work as well."
Click. Read. It's amazing.
RL kept me away, for the most part, through most of racefail09 and until very recently. It has kept and will continue to keep me away for most of today and all of tonight until tomorrow.
But as I get back into wellness and internet access and general time to spare...
And check up bit by bit and link by link on "what I missed," and what I heard about from involved friends and STILL, STILL can't believe I'm reading with my own eyeballs...
I know that I will have much, much more to say. I won't be able to say much of it tonight... But I still know I have ONE THING I HAVE TO SAY besides a word of support and a link to foc_u and so many people posting so many things so much better than anything I could ever say.
And this one thing I have to say is directed solely at my fellow white people.
( THE ONE THING I HAVE TO SAY TO FELLOW WHITE PEOPLE RIGHT NOW IN THE FIVE MINUTES I HAVE ON THE COMPUTER IS BEHIND THIS CUT )

How crazily weird and dumb and faily can I get even with all the crazy going on in my life right now, I don't even know...
10:24 PM me: ...I just realized I volunteered for something by accident...
That I would happily help with, but...
Okay, here's what happened, now how do I explain this...
10:25 PM amiangelwings: o.o
me: I had part of this linkspam post open, with like a thousand other firefox tabs because now that I'm feeling better I'm trying to catch up on mammoth fail and everything, right... and they were looking for a paid user to set up a feed, right?
But somebody already did it before I could say anything, right? Yey!

So, though I've tried to avoid spoilers for the new 'Trek movie, there was one thing I couldn't AVOID learning about... And it was one thing that would be guaranteed to make me utterly anxious and crazy and put me back in that hyper-obsessive Trekkiness that I thought I hadn't suffered since HS...
That's right, this just in, I apparently made some sort of deal with the devil, and the 'Trek tale gets rebooted in such a fashion that:
( It's everywhere, but what the heck I'll put it behind a cut. )

Lady Chatterly's Lover by DH Lawrence? The Sirens of Titan by Kurt Vonnegut? After the Banquet by Yukio Mishima? Gateway and EVERYTHING Heechee related by Frederick Pohl?
I do not like those books.
Some of you might be surprised. Though some of you might be surprised I read books without pictures and/or Batman in them, come to think of it...
